Active Ingredient: 240g litre Clethodim in the form of a Suspension Concentrate. What Is The Chemical:

Cletho® 240 EC is a selective Post-emergence Herbicide For the control of certain Grass Weeds in Beetroot, Cabbage, Canola, Celery, Chickpeas, Cotton, Faba Beans, Field Peas, Lentils, Lettuce, Lupins, Mung Beans, Non-bearing Fruit Trees, Onions, Ornamentals, Peanuts, Potatoes and for Annual and Perennial Grass Control in Broadleaf Crops and Forestry.
Active Ingredient:
240g/litre Clethodim in the form of a Suspension Concentrate.
What Is The Chemical:
- Group: Group 1 (ACCase inhibitor).
- Mode: Systemic Grass Herbicide.
- Same chemistry as Vega® — no difference in mode of action.
How To Apply:
- Adjuvant (NON-NEGOTIABLE).
- Must be mixed with Result® Spraying Oil.
- Rate 1L/100 L water / Max 2L/ha.
- If you skip Result® Spraying Oil → performance drops badly.(This is one of the most common real-world failures).
Timing (this makes or breaks it) The Best Timing Is:
- Young Grasses (2–5 leaf stage).
- Actively growing.
Avoid Spraying:
- Drought-stressed plants.
- Waterlogged plants.
- Recently grazed (without regrowth).
- Ideal let grass regrow to 5–10 cm fresh growth before spraying.
Rainfastness:
- Rainfast after 1 hour.
- That’s actually quite good compared to many Herbicides.
Rates: (very important — properly structured).
Light Grasses: (Easy Targets).
Rate 0.25 – 0.5 L/ha.
- Wild Oats.
- Ryegrass (Small).
- Barnyard Grass.
- Summer Grass.
Medium / Tougher Grasses:
Rate 0.5 – 1.0 L/ha.
- Barley Grass.
- Bromes.
- Tall Fescue.
- Poa.
Perennial / Hard Grasses:
Rate 2.0 – 3.0 L/ha.
- Couch.
- Paspalum.
- Indian Doab.
Reality Check:
- Established Turf Ryegrass → suppression only.
- Yorkshire Fog → suppression only.
- This is important in NZ — don’t expect miracles on old Pasture Grasses.
Crop Uses: (what you can actually spray).
- Legumes.
- Lucerne.
- Clover.
- Lotus, Trefoil.
- Strong fit here — very common use.
Brassicas: (Fodder Crops).
- Spray Early 3–6 weeks after planting before canopy closes.
- Can tank mix carefully (more below).
- Forage Herbs.
- Chicory.
- Plantain.
- Don’t spray Plantain once flower heads appear.
Vegetables: (Proven Safe On).
- Onions.
- Carrots.
- Lettuce .
Max Rate:
- 1 L/ha.
- Always test if unsure.
- Orchards directed spray only (avoid Fruit).
Forestry Radiata Pine, etc, Spot Spray 3.5 mL per litre.
Mixing Rules: (VERY important).
- Can Mix With:
- Some products like Timberwolf®, Ken-Trel® Herbicides.
Do NOT Mix:
With random Herbicides unless proven safe.
Within 7 days of Phenoxy Herbicides (e.g. MCPA®, 2,4-D®) "THIS IS CRITICAL" Mixing incorrectly = reduced Grass kill.
Application Setup:
- Water rate 100–300 L/ha.
- Droplet size 150–300 microns.
- Translation Medium spray quality (not too fine → avoid drift).
Withholding Periods:
- Vegetables → 5 weeks.
- Legumes / Forage / Brassicas → 3 weeks.
- Plan grazing accordingly.
Spray Hygiene:
- Clean out sulfonylurea residues before spraying.
After Spraying:
- Full detergent clean.
- Rinse twice.
- Residues from other chemicals can, damage Crops and reduce performance.
Resistance Management:
- Group 1 herbicide → high resistance risk.
The label explicitly warns:
- Resistant Ryegrass will survive and can dominate quickly, What this means in practice is.
- Do NOT rely on Cletho® 240 EC alone every season and rotate with other Herbicide groups and Grazing / Cultivation.
- NZ Reality Ryegrass resistance is already widespread.
Real-World Performance Warnings: (Based On Label).
- Old Pasture Grasses → often only suppressed.
- Dense infestations → need higher water rate and higher Chemical rate.
- Spray overlap → can damage Crop.
Key Mixing Insight:
Often better to Spray Cletho® 240 EC separately, Then Broadleaf Herbicide later, because mixing can reduce effectiveness.
Bottom Line:
- This is a standard, effective Clethodim® Product.
Works Best:
- Early timing.
- With Result® Spraying Oil.
- On Young Grasses.
Weak on:
- Old Pasture Grasses.
- Resistant Ryegrass.
Biggest Risk:
- Resistance buildup if overused.
Most Important Takeaways:
If You Remember Nothing Else:
- Always add Result® Spraying Oil.
- Spray young Grass (2–5 leaf).
- Don’t expect control on old Pasture.
- Don’t overuse (resistance risk).
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.

Fun toy but not as durable as I hoped.
Color: Green
I just rescued a dog from the shelter. She is super sweet and playful but she loves to chew her toys so I needed to buy her ones more durable to play with. This toy caught my eye but I was concerned that it might be too large for my small 7 pound terrier mix. After receiving it, I really loved the colors and the way it looked and my dog loves playing with it. Everything about it is great except that within a few weeks of playing with it, she already managed to make a small tear in it. It's not to the point where I would take it away from her toy box but I just wish it was more durable.

Great for tug of war
Color: Green
All the arms make for a good tug of war toy. It’s tough enough that my 70 lbs lab can pull on it and it’s fine

Durable
Color: Green, Color: Green
We’ve had it for awhile now and it’s still (mostly) in one piece. Has held up well for our heavy chewing puppy. It lost a tentacle but that’s nothing compared to the level of destruction our dog has put other toys through in much shorter amounts of time. Recommend for heavy chewers and will likely buy again!

Not large
Color: Green
This is a lot smaller than it appears in pictures. I was going to give it to a large dog but I’m worried it would be a choking hazard. instead I’m going to give it to a pug. Seems fine quality wise just not “large”
