Grow bold, flavorful herbs with Giant of Italy Parsley Seeds (Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum) from Survival Garden Seeds. This beloved Italian flat leaf parsley is known for its large, aromatic leaves, vigorous growth, and robust, authentic flavor—making it a staple in both home gardens and kitchens.

Big, Productive Plants with Bold Flavor:
The Giant of Italy variety produces tall, bushy plants up to 24 inches high, yielding broad, dark-green leaves with a rich herbal aroma and strong taste. More flavorful than curly parsley, this heirloom favorite is perfect for sauces, soups, meats, salads, and garnishes, and retains its taste beautifully when dried for long-term storage.

Why Gardeners Love Giant of Italy Parsley:

  • High-yielding variety – Large, leafy plants offer steady harvests for fresh or dried use.
  • Rich, authentic flavor – Preferred for Italian dishes and seasoning blends.
  • Easy to grow – Thrives in full sun and well-drained soil; suitable for garden beds or containers.
  • Long harvest season – Pick outer stems regularly to promote continuous growth.

How to Grow:
Start seeds indoors or outdoors after frost, soaking or lightly scarifying seeds to speed germination (which may take 14–28 days). Sow ¼ inch deep in moist, fertile soil and keep evenly watered. Space mature plants 12–18 inches apart for vigorous, healthy growth. Suitable for USDA Zones 2–11, Giant of Italy parsley thrives from spring through fall and can overwinter in mild regions.

Reliable Harvest, Season After Season:
Harvest outer leaves as needed to encourage regrowth. Enjoy fresh parsley straight from your garden, or dry bunches for long-term storage. With its high productivity and full-bodied flavor, Giant of Italy parsley provides a lasting, flavorful addition to your garden and pantry.

A quick but thoughtful read. This book is great to share with friends and an excellent conversation starter without being exactly political, in the negative sense of the word. Inspires constructive conversation regardless of your background.

It's How Wars End That Become Important Afterward
Format: Paperback
The twentiety century taught us a lot about wars and how they end. World War I showed us that making strong demands on the defeated (who didn't admit defeat to their own people) set the stage for the next big war. World War II was fought until the Unconditional Surrender of the Germans and Japanese. Something that thinkers still debate as having made them fight all that harder. VietNam was fought with no clear end in sight, and "another VietNam" entered our language. The first Gulf War was ended when Colin Powell and Bush II debated how to end the war. They stopped before they had to go in and see what the Sunni's, Shiite's and Kurds made of the power vacuum left by the removal of Saddam would have created. Bush II is learning about this now. This is the second revised edition of this book, originally published in 1971 and then updated in 1991 and now 2005 to reflect happenings in new wars. Still some of the old wars had interesting insights that I didn't know before, such as how Finland, originally on Germany's side against Russia, made a peace with Russia and kicked the Germans out before they became a Russian province. Great Book.
