It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage

This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.
Chest: 37"
Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. So since they were listed as down alternative, I was interested to see if they had that artificially puffy feel to them. They do get puffed up really well after a day. And the fabric is cool and comfortable. I do feel like these have good quality stuffing and the cover feels nice. I'm a back sleeper and it's just the right amount of bulk under my neck. I usually bunch the pillow up a little bit there so there's a little more pressure under my neck but with these it just felt good to lay on it without having to bunch it up in any special way. So I would definitely recommend them. So far I'm really liking having these pillows.
