gold 1920s dress Intricate 1920s Unlabeled Gold Metallic Lame Thread & Sequin on Black – Shrimpton CoutureThis wonderful little 1920s flapper dress was completely made by hand and a wonderful example of the level of craftsmanship being utilized during this time period. It has no other label but it is not hard to imagine that it might have been a designer piece as well. The base of the dress is a black

This wonderful little 1920s flapper dress was completely made by hand and a wonderful example of the level of craftsmanship being utilized during this time period. It has its original Made in France label still present and these pieces were always a little higher quality then some examples you see from the time period. It has no other label but it is not hard to imagine that it might have been a designer piece as well. The base of the dress is a black silk netting that is strong and sturdy. Onto this is an intricate design made up of gelatin sequins set boxes. Each is a combination of purple, pink & turquoise in an alternating design. The placement of each sequin is by hand and it is amazing to think of the time it would have taken to make the fabric alone. The center of each block makes me think of a cluster of little pink "hearts" that are then surrounded by an abstract shape. A metal based gold lame thread and tiny little gold tubes beads are then shaped around each to make the block design that you see.  These are then stacked in rows to cover the dress entirely with the black netting serving as the separation between each. This combination of colored sequins, gold thread & beads is absolutely fantastic. There is an extra panel of netting inserted at each hip to give the skirt extra flare. Excellent antique condition

The dress is unlined and slips over the head to wear. The edges of the side net panels are raw and at one time there may have an extension to them but it is now cut even with the hem. I see no other flaws and it appears to have been worn very little if at all and is wearble with the care it would deserve to be worn with. Even with that small defect the dress is remarkably sound and shockingly beautiful. It is almost 100 years old and is considered to be in museum quality condition.

Perhaps the Perfect Digital Watch
This is perhaps as close to a perfect digital watch as you can get. Besides the toughness of a G=Shock, it's got all the daily features one may need (alarm - which you can set up to 5, stopwatch and countdown timer). It also has world time, which is a nice feature to have when travelling. When in stop watch and time modes, the current time is displayed in the upper right corner of the display where the date normally is. It's solar powered, and the display shows how much power the watch has. Multi-band 6 is another feature, so it automatically sets the time once it receives a signal from an atomic clock transmitter. YMMV with this feature though. I have difficulty receiving the signal being on the U.S. east coast (the transmitter is in Colorado). There are phone apps you can use to strengthen the signal if normal reception fails. Despite this, it can be manually set if needed. Visibility of the display is an upgrade over the DW-5600. It's more clear, and more visible at different viewing angles. The standard backlight is now LED instead of the classic electroluminescence. Some prefer the latter. This may or may not be a deal breaker based on personal preference, but considering what this watch has to offer, it should only be a consideration in the bigger picture. The watch offers a great fit for G-Shock. With its slim profile, it lacks the bulk of many of the other G-Shock models out there. It's very comfortable to wear on different size wrists, though the strap may not be everyone's cup of tea. The design is very much retro, harkening back to the 1983 original square with the red border. For the price of this watch, it really is a great value. It's also possibly the only digital watch you'll ever need unless you want other functions like tides, barometers, etc. In my collection, this watch is one of my favorites. There's a good chance it will become one of yours too.

Most practical watch
I'm a watch collector and I enjoy classic men's watches. One thing that I can't stand is that no matter where you turn around you always see bunch of people with the same exact smart watch of a certain brand on their wrists. So boring. So cliche. So annoying. As the phones aren't enough. Anyway, excluding this Casio that I bought last year out of nostalgia, I have 6 other watches with combined value of $30K: a Sea Dweller, a Seamaster, an Aquaracer, a Seiko Cpt Willard, a Seiko Arnie and a Citizen Nighthawk. Yet I wear this cheap $100 Casio most of the time - when I'm outdoors, when I'm at home, in a pool ..... - Virtually 90% of the the time and situations that don't warrant wearing a luxury/dressy watch. That says enough how much I like this retro looking G-Shock! It's by far the most practical watch I have and it has all the features you would want in an EDC watch: toughness, solar power, waterproof, alarm, timer, date, light, multiple times zones... I highly recommend it for men of all ages, backgrounds and lines of work.

The perfect "set it and forget it" watch
I finally decided to swap my smartwatch for something simpler, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with this G-Shock. The best part is definitely the zero maintenance aspect. Since it's solar powered, I don't have to worry about charging it or swapping batteries. It also has Multiband 6, which basically means it syncs with atomic clocks every night (assuming you're in range of the broadcast tower and have good signal). It is literally never off by even a second. If you’re someone who values total accuracy but wants to go a bit more analog, this is definitely the one. It’s as rugged as you’d expect. I’ve already taken it to a water park and beat it around quite a bit, but it still looks brand new. It’s nice having something on my wrist that I don't have to baby or worry about scratching. The only real downside is that the buttons are pretty recessed, so they can be a bit of a pain to press. You kind of have to use your fingernail to get them to click. It’s a small trade-off for the durability, but worth mentioning if you have bigger hands. Overall, if you want a bulletproof watch that’s always accurate and never needs a charge, you can’t really beat this classic.

Great Watch!
Excellent watch. Extremely low profile considering all of its features: Six-band atomic clock reception around the world, 200 meter water resistance, stopwatch, timer, alarm, shock resistance and you hardly notice you’re wearing it! If you buy this watch scan the QR code in the English portion of the instruction manual. It provides a much more clear explanation of how to use the watch’s features. Not bulky but loaded with stand-alone features. It’s not dependent upon a cell phone for anything it provides and it charges with any light source. It’s awesome!
